2 weeks late!!! Robbert takes the big score down!

Yes its late, due to the usual confusion about who should be writing the blog after certain matches!!! So sorry guys.

Robbert took down the tourney with some well timed big hands and after amassing a big chip lead.

It was great to see some new faces, Koen and Jiu Ting were showing up for the first time and nice to see some big bluffs and Koen proved himself to be a solid tight player also, they are always welcome in the game.

A strange game, Adam had a costly night after a few rebuys and ending up out of the tournament pretty quickly after a few buyins, and it did look like Roy might take it down for a while.

Andy was playing some crazy poker and getting paid off for it, and after his A( took down Dave's AK after two 9's on the flop after a preflop all in Dave was left with 3 chips and the happy feeling that this was not for points.

Andy got paid back though when his KK got smashed by Robbert's JJ after he hit his 3rd J directly on the flop, after that he was looking unstoppable, and it turns out he was.

To further increase his Lead, Koen finally pushed all in on the button with Q 7 diamonds and Robbert in the BB looked down to see KK, and of course called instantly taking down a nice big pot and giving him the huge chip lead.

It was a complete uphill struggle for Roy to try to get anything back and after walking into another monster hand from Rob it was all over, Robbert took down €155 for a nice big win.

This is the shit I am dealing with

Every tourney, every time, this shit is happening.

I outplay the cunts and they make some stupid CUNT move and get rewarded, and I MEAN everytime.

This cunt called with K high on a dry flop and spiked a river Queen after making the worst call ever!

CUNT, I hope him and him and his family have a nasty accident and drown. 3 FUCKING OUTS.... this shit has happened for over 10 tourneys in a row, every hand cracked by some donkey Arsehole making a stupid cunt of a move and getting rewarded for being a cunt. THEY CAN ALL DIAGF and I can watch them burn.

Watta Luckbox! &$%#!@YU*&?!

4 man turbo tourney turns into a 3man turbo when juha fails to show. DOH! he was
blinded out until the rebuy period was over then we moved on with 3 players, roy,
adam & beebzz.

adam continued to suck out on brian about 6-7 times on the river adn brian was of
course out at 20:34. the earliest recorded time yet for brian. DOH! he was tilting
and played heads-up with himself and came out even with a red circle green king, so
he went home earl, got the bracelet in themail and got his .26c back. HE WON! and
lost, i think ;) for details ask dave.

adam was the short stack with only 6k in chips compared to roys 11k but in one
all-in from them both, adam had all the chips minus about 1k left over for roy to
think... hmmmm, im still in this! too bad we opted for a winner-take-all 70euro
prize! doh! for hand details, ask the players, beebz was drinkin 9,2% beer n cant
remember ;)

it was over quick, another cash game ensued after but beebzz took his green king
loss/win home early n fell asleep no the couch to a nice deep stack 500k high stakes
poker re-run on pokertube. ahhhh the life.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz RAISE!
huh.... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz ALL IN ALL IN!
zzzzzzzzzzzzz SUCK OUT!?! AGAIN!

DOH!

Last Saturday Nite!

Well kids! this is beebzz comin to ya with a quick match report of wat the heck
happened!?! last saturday nite! YEA!

An early cash game of 4 players showed up big for somemm less for others. for more
detailed information, ask them :)

18:55 hit and we couldnt wait any longer! Maurice was the newbie in the game so some
fresh blood is always welcome! He held his own n did well to boot. Woulda even got
points, HAHA Go Maurice!

The game began with alotttttta action! chips flyin everywhere and kids goin ALL-IN
like it was a .10c tourney and not a 10euro one. DANG! That spelled disaster for
some nd bossed the other up quite nice with 5 rebuys and 1 add-ons putting the pot
up to 142euro for the winner of a 6-man match VERY NICE!

beebzz perspective: I thought I was playin good until that one big dominated call
for all my chips holdin KJo to Andy's AJo and watda know? the flop comes 2 3 5, then
my KING! and of course to end my evening the earliest of the entire YEAR of playin!
the 4 came on the river and BANG! Beebzz was felted at 21:26! BAMM! DOEI! OUCH.
number one out. "poker happens"

Ive just coined my own phrase! NICE.

The next out was the CHIP LEADER ADAM! who was holding onto 10k in chips that slowly
leaked away until the big bang, first with Q9 vs Q10 tthen his KQ walked into Daves KK when he hit a Q on the flop finally going out with 8 8 in the small blind walking into Andy's AA in the big blind. It really seemed like the night ofhte big blind!! BANG! DOEI! he was #2 out, welcome to the no points
club! DOH!. (for more details see adam :) so of course a side cash game began that I
have more info on but is irrelevant.

a 4-man game continued with Maurice, Roy, Dave and andy all shovin' their chips in, makin
moves and stealin! Dave ended up going out when he was down to 5x the BB and pushed with KJ in the and got called by Andy's KQ in the BB, he was out in 3rd, then the final Hand Andy got his 7 8 in against KQ suited against Roy and Roy hit his Flush on the turn.... and takes down another tourney, well done Roy.

YEA! details evade me but the final result ended like this:

Cashes:
ROY 127euro +/-
ANDY 42euro +/-

Points:
Roy 10pts!
Andy 8pts!
Dave 6pts
Maurice (finished 4th so no points were awarded this week!)

Leaderboard looks like so!

Rankings
1. Dave: 76 pts
2. Roy: 72 pts
3. Robbert: 60 pts
4. Brian: 56 pts
5. Reinder: 54 pts
6. Adam: 48 pts
7. Andy: 42 pts

-- out of the running --
Liam, Juha, Stuart

----------------

....

Of course following the tourney began ANOTHER dealers choice cash game that had
Adam and Brian straddlin their omaha deals like crazy once we hit the big table!
yea! big pots big wins and an explosive finish that moved a 45euro pot in one hand from to Dave (the final hand of all things). OUCH. let me say one thing about that: A ONE TIME GIFT, ENJOY (I will enjoy it, I will save some of it, to take some more money from you next game ;)). IM
COMIN 4 IT. ;D

hahahaha NICE!
ROCK AAN!

End of the Year Match schedule:
01st November - 19:00
15th November - 19:00

SOMEONES GONNA TILT!

Belated Match Report

Sorry for the delay guys, but here is brief belated match report from 2 weeks ago.

Yep the Luck Box Dave won again.... there was a lot of talk about coming in the points during match and who wanted to make sure who didn't make the points.

David was mainly concerned about keeping Roy out of the points and scoring himself so he was very happy when Roy went out in 5th place just outside the points!!!

Andy got very unlucky not to win the tournament when Dave luckboxed him completely, Flop came down K 9 4 rainbow and Dave pushed all in, Andy thought long and hard and even admitted he had a bad feeling about the hand, but he eventually called, showing K 4.

A 9 on the river gave Dave back his chip lead and put Andy in a tough spot.. The final hand Andy raised, Dave re raised and Andy pushed all in, Dave insta-called with A Q and was a bit unhappy to see the pair of 9's, but a Q on the river made him lucky once again and he won the match, taking home 112 Euro and Andy finishing in an unlucky 2nd.

So the competition is getting hot for the player of the year now, Dave is leading with 70 points and Roy in a close second with 62, although anyone in the top 5 can win enough points to take down the trophy this year easily. It is getting exciting.

next time i promise i make notes (the game that time forgot)

once again we find selves in a position where most of us can remember nothing of the game.. lol.. somehow i think this will change as the year goes on and the stakes get higher. there is over 200 euros in the player of the year prize now i think.. it would be a nice little prize by the end of the year. maybe over 300 plus the title, the fame and trophy.. i want it..

but i wasn't going to make much progress in the this game. for once i drank a little big too much and recall loosing a nice chip lead at one point and finishing in 5th. Dave said I get a point or two but I'm sure he'll sort that out.(helpdude)

i also remember calling Andy AJ down with my 73o i think at one point. A bit crazy but i still claim i had favourable pot odds. Liam knocked me out by hitting a straight on the river.

OK. I can't say much more other than:

8 players

adam  - 5th
roy  - 1st       165 euros
robbert - 3rd
andy - 6th
dave - 7th
brian - 8th
liam - 4th
reinder  - 2nd -    55 euros

If I've got something wrong then someone correct me please.

:-)

next time i promise i make some notes

you been playing any poker?

beebzz hea-
got an email from my bro
who plays at the local casino in detroit:
CHECK IT!

(i believe the game was $5/10 NLHE)

------------------ email-begins-now:

by the way---I hit the bad beat JACKPOT for 15,000 dollars a couple weeks
ago----I'll tell you how it went! I was killing the game bought in for 500 and had
it up to 1700 or so. I look down and I have 10-6 of spades- and was under the gun.
So of course i raise!--LOL=---(i was killing them so it didnt matter) I raised to
40-----got 4 callers. Flop was 7-8-9 of spades. LOL----flopped straight FLUSH. I
checked and this guy next to me bet 200. Another guy called and I called -----the
turn was a 7--which paired the board. I checked again and he bet ALL-IN 475
dollars, this other guy called then I pushed ALL-IN, the other guy also called. POT
was about 2500 dollars....I turned over STRAIGHT FLUSH AND THE OTHER GUY had
QUADS!!!! BAD BEAT!!! EVERYONE went BERZERK___CRAZY! The guy with quads got 34k
and I got 15k. They took taxes out so I ended up with 11k plus about 4-5k from
winning throughout the night----SICK!!!!

the one before the last one which I won - I Finally Win

before I begin, does anyone remember who won last tourney? :-)

Ayway the one before:

I Finally Win

I won one.. Roy came 2nd.

I think Reinder came third and Robert was 4th.

There were two royal flushes.

Mine, which i flopped, holding Aks, Roy slopped a set of kings, and i was happy to check call his all-in.

Robbert had the other one. After mine in another big hand. 2 royal slushes within the hour! Unbeleivable.

It was a fairly hazy night for me, especially now when i try with great difficulty to remember..

No chance.

If anyone else can remember anything from 3 weeks ago - post a comment and help me out.

Anyway.

Here are the results:

Adam 1st 112 euros 10 pts
Roy 2nd 37euros 8 pts
Reinder 3rd 6 pts

I think we have points for 4th (Dave can confirm it), but if we do then:

Robbert 4th 4 pts

It was good to see Juha again. He was a crazy like a gazzel scenting the jungle fire and its a shame he can't play this saturday!  Reinder was like a insane dog, berating Robbert constantly about his slow play! And when we all started to cry when Andy suffered an incredibly bad beat off Roy... That topped everything, Since then I've embraced golf and started a new a darker life..

(Only joking, but as i cant remember shit then i make it up)

How you feeling............?

Well what a crazy night yet again....

Aces were seen 5 times during this game and Robbert held them 3 times.... at a rate of 224-1 that is pretty intense odds of seeing one hand so many times in the game, I believe Brian had them the other 2 times... once they were cracked by Dave's 5's and the other time he picked up a small pot with them I believe, Robbert won some small pots with them and I believe one big pot... but still some HUGE hands were seen Saturday night!

anyway on with the match report:

Things started off a bit rough for Brian after slow playing his aces and Dave flopping a full house with his pocket 5's... to stack Brian off in the 3rd hand, this followed by Dave getting it all in with J J against Brian's QQ a few hands later and stacking him off again with J on the turn.... it didn't seem to be Brian's night..

You would have though with that kind of a start Dave would have been walking to another victory but Andy had other ideas.. every raise from Dave was followed by a re-raise from Andy who was sat on his right, he kept pressing and putting Dave under pressure and picking up some large pots to take a bit of a lead until he walked into 10 10 vs his A J and had to rebuy.

Roy was being a bit quiet and didn't seem to be hitting too many hands and was just holding his own now and again quietly protecting his stack, and Robbert seemed to be very short-stacked for quite some time during the match, just waiting patiently for something to happen for him. Eventually after about 4 rebuys (2 from Brian) and everyone adding on things started to happen although everyone was still in the game until very late this week nearly everyone was still in at 11:30 and down to 4 at about 12:00, Roy was the first out leaving him to wonder what happened, next was Dave after a very drunk Brian called an all in with A 7 against Dave's 7 7, proclaiming he had one of Dave's outs.... hmmmmm..... next hand the now Short-stacked Dave was all in with K 8 suited against Brian's J J, he didn't survive. Brian had played his short stack well and now had a nice pile of chips in order to attack from 2nd in chips. Justice was done for his early bad luck with the aces and the queens, there is a poker god it seems..

Adam was the next victim... getting called down by Andy's K 9 vs Adam's A 8 and getting stacked after a King on the turn even with his playing a nice aggressive game all evening, stealing at the right times and slowly building his stack despite one rebuy and being short stacked for some time.

A VERY drunk Brian was being very aggressive when down to the last 3 and Andy made good use of his aggression eventually picking him off to give himself a commanding chip lead going into heads up.... and for the first time it was Andy vs Robbert heads up for the title...

What a heads up it was too.... Short-stacked Robbert went all in with K 6 against Andy's 7 7 even with a 7 on the flop (giving Andy a set of 7's) Robbert managed to get the HUGE suck out and hit a straight on the river when the 5 fell doubling up.... Andy was not pleased but still had plenty of chips, but it was not looking like it was meant to be and despite Andy's aggressive play sometimes it takes a bit of luck or a hand to hold up for you to be able to take it down.

The next big blow was when a huge flop came down Q J J with 2 spades....... Robbert bet and Andy called.. you could just feel this was a big hand... Robbert pushed all in on the turn and Andy pondered what to do.. after minute or two Andy called showing the nut flush draw, unfortunately Robbert turned over Q J for the flopped full house.... negating Andy's flush draw... and crippling Andy

This left Andy very short-stacked and it didn't take very long for him to be knocked out and for Robbert to win his first title for quite some time and get his winning streak back on track. Taking home €120 and Andy taking home €40 much to his disgust.

Roy takes it down.

6man tourney 26july08 Hilversum venue

Everything started in a flurry of chips being thrown around crazy! The funny part
was they were all going in ONE DIRECTION: BRIAN's.

At the end of the 3rd Round, 5 players were roughly in the same neighborhood of
2.500 in chips and Brian had 17.500, a BIG CHIP LEADER. How could this be? Easy,
everytime Brian would take a stab at the pot, there was "the fish of the nite",
ADAM. He rebought 5-6x that nite, bossin Brian up everytime and goin back into his
pocket for another. Adam just would not give him credit for a hand (and was the
first to go out in the tourny).

After the Add-on period and start of round 4, everyone had roughly 5k and Brian also
added-on for shits-n-giggles and held a cool 20k. Adam couldn't catch a break and
was knocked out one more time quickly by Brian, poof.

Next was a short stack in Andy hittin the bricks hard after runnin into Brian's
pocket A's that hit a set on the flop, ouch. Robbert took the last 1.000 of Andy's
stack and the two dealers were set in stone. Everyone else was welcomed to the
"points club" by the enthusiastic chip leader as the game continued.

Reinder and Robbert were next to go out against Brian and it left only Roy standing,
or well sitting in the lowrider chair of the evening. MOOI.

Brian still held a chip leader with about 25k to roys 20k and when it came time to
throw it in, they both did. the pot was about 15k with Brian's AKo goin down to
Roy's AJo with a Jack on the flop, that held up. This took ~Brian for a surproise
being in the chip lead for 4.5hours and it was a quick finish after this.

The chips stacks were about even now w/ Roy's 25k to Brian's 20k... the details get
a bit foggy here after rebuying with Reinder the whole nite Rose wine, (DANG BLURRY)
Brian jumped all in with middle pair 9's while the flop told Roy to call with top
pair 10's. After a few minutes of lookin over the board adn his options, it was a
definite call, sweeping the rug out from under the nites chip leader adn takin down
the big cash of 135 adn leavin Brian with the measly crumbs of 45.

Brian knows it was a bad ALL-IN move but havin that big nite and that bottle of wine
in ya makes everything a lil sweeter and sexy when it comes to hittin the flop
heads-up, but hey, theres always the next tourney.

TILL NEXT TIME!
Keep yer eyes peeled and them chips clankin'.

ROCK AAN!

Randy II: The Deadly Mist

We all expected a good game. We got one.
The only problem is I was totally in inebriated and cannot recall a damn thing.

So if anyone can actually remember please leave a comment. I only remember being really gutted not to go further. Luckily Roy sent me some picks so I know I had quads Jacks. Ahh.. Its all coming back now..

These are the placings (this I could just about make out):

1. Randy Reinder.
2. Liam. Can't read my notes here
3. Andy. Lost out against Andy's pocket rockets.
4. Adam. Can't read my notes here
5. Robbert. Can't read my notes here
6. Roy. Can't read my notes here
7. Brian. Can't read my notes here

My tip of the day: Try Playing Poker with a STRAIGHT HEAD!! Will also help to write about what happened..

A Randy Success!

Because Juha dropped out the tourney was five players, with the top three getting POTY points. We all thought we would do well.

But the game started slowly; no one was donked out in the the first three rounds with lots of small pots being played. It was not until the last few minutes before the add on period that action really took hold;
Reinder who had been slowly losing money through the first levels was knocked out by Adam in a nasty little hand and he rebought.

After the break things really livened up; stacks went up and down for most of us except Brian, who with very aggressive play became the undoubted big stack. Brian power play became the them of the night.
Brian went all in in the dark after Liam limped in from 1st position and Roy called from the small blind. Liam folded straight away. After a few moments of consideration Roy called; he had j10 diamonds and Brian had an ace rag off suit. Brian won with a high card ace! Roy was out. Crazy play from Brian but it was profitable.

Liam was next out after suffering from various coolers; every pocket pairs he got he played nicely but he fell to some loose aggressive calls from the table. It was a night for him to forget; he played well! How could we all suck out on him?

Down to just three players Brian, who had been the big stack and now had nearly 75% of the chips in the game, went into overdrive. He was bossing the table and someone had to stand up to him, and that man was Reinder. Backing the strength of his starting hand Reinder called down one of Brian stronger hands to double up. Shortly after this Brian went all in with pockets 2s and Reinder called him down with a higher pocket. Brian was dumbfounded; it was an unbelievable blow up, one which will probably not be repeated in the history of poker.

Then it was a headz up between Reinder and Adam, chip stacks were about 20 k to Adams 3k, blinds were 300 and 600. Headz up lasted about 5mins, after one double up Adam was too aggressive with an A5 off suit which Reinder instantly called his all in with A9off. Reinder won.

It has been a remarkable effort by Reinder (nickname Randy) to take it down. Out of all the players so far he has the best tourneys to win ratio and moved himself a long way up the rankings, its a shame he doesn't play more often. He was amicable in victory stating that he got the good cards when its was important, but I know he also layed down a few good hands too, so well played Randy.

The rest of were left to drown our sorrows in the cheap wine and beer. My enduring memory of the night was Liam curled up like a baby on by sofa; crying softly like a baby..

Poker is bad for your health!!!

British Poker Player Suffers Ultimate Bad Beat; Plunges to His Death After Losing Poker Game

king is pointing up to the title of the article about a british kid dying after playing poker The Telegraph is reporting that young Mark Day, all of 20 years old, plunged to his death after losing a poker game with some of his closest friends.

He wasn't distraught after losing his life savings in a high-stakes poker game. He didn't jump off his balcony after losing next month's rent money.

Instead, Day and his friends were drinking. Heavily. They were on vacation in Magalluf, Spain, and were staying at the Majorca Beach Hotel. Day, along with his friends Marc Smart and Steve Kimberley, were enjoying some time off from their studies at the University of Essex.

The threesome were playing poker in their hotel room. In their intoxicated states, they decided that it would be a good idea if the biggest loser in their poker game had to perform some humiliating task.

They decided that the loser would have to strip down to just their underwear, and run down the hallway in the hotel.

Mark Day lost the bet. According to police, he stripped down to his underwear and raced down the hallway on the fifth floor of his hotel.

Unfortunately for Day, he proceeded to run directly through the window at the end of the hallway, and fell five floors. He crashed onto the concrete below, and was pronounced dead at the scene shortly thereafter.

Police think that Day:

a) tripped and crashed through the window
b) was running so fast that he couldn't stop in time
c) was distracted by something and ran directly through the window

Day's friends, Marc Smart and Steve Kimberley, were questioned by police and then moved into another hotel.

Be careful out there.

The quick and the dead....

So saturdays game was VERY quick indeed... for some reason we were finished at 100:30 and everyone could catch their trains and make their way home without too much fuss.

The game began with a bit of a rammin jammin feel with Adam all in with A 7 early on to double up through Dave and Dave having to rebuy very quickly. Liam was a late show but only missed 6 hands or so before he arrived and then he began to play nice and aggresively too.

Things were quite aggressive till the 3rd round with very little rebuys, then in the 3rd round with 10 mins still to go in the rebuy period we had 3 rebuys, Liam, rebought and added in straight away after Adam called him down with Q 4 and took the rest of his stack and building his own into a nice workable situation taking the Chip lead early on.

Everybody added in making the pot €190 in total.

Then it happened first hand after the break, David Raised preflop, Brian called and Liam reraised, after asking how much Liam had behind, he just called and Brian called after him.

The flop came :

Ks Qc 8s

David pushed all in directly on the flop, Brian called and Liam called.

When the cards flipped over David tabled 8 8 for 3 8's, Brian had middle pair with QJ and Liam showed AK spades for top pair and nut flush draw!

The board bricked out and the 3 8's held up and David tripled up and built his stack up by quite a bit and took the chip lead from Adam. Shortly after this Robbert called Dave down with pocket 3's after thinking that Dave had missed his straight draw. His luck was a bit down after picking up Aces twice but never really winning any big pots with them..

Not long after that Andy who was also sitting on a nice stack after winning lots of smaller pots got into an important pot. Andy called het blind and Roy moved all in behind him. Andy after thnking for a while said that he called despite adding it didn't feel right..... how those feelings can be so correct.

Roy turned over pocket 3's and Andy turned over pocket 4's the board came down 6 5 2 rainbow giving both players a straight draw... whoever hit their set would make the straight for the other one...

The turn paired the board and then on the river came the 4... making a set for Andy but the straight for Roy, taking half of Andy's stack.

Adam then knocked out Andy a few hands later after they both got it all in the middle, that left just 3 over, Roy, Adam and Dave.

Within a few hands Adam raised preflop to 1000 and Dave reraised him 1500 Adam then moved all in and dave called, showing J J to Adams, A Q off suit. The board bricked out again and the JJ held up knocking out Adam and leaving Dave with 90% of the chips in play against Roy.

Again after Dave called the big blind, and Roy check the board came down, K 9 8 with two hearts. Roy bet and Dave called, the Ah fell on the turn and Roy moved all in and Tabled 10 8 offsuit and he had walked into Daves nut flush with the Q 5 of hearts and was drawing dead.

And so ends another tourney, it looks like next week it could be held in Hilversum so that sounds like it could be a great game! see you all soon!!

Saturdays match

It was a wierd one saturday, only 6 of us so a bit of a small one, but everyone held on there and there was still all 6 players until about 11:30 and then it started speeding up with the people dropping out.

Robbert had made an amazing comeback after bleeding off a lot of chips over a long period and had got back to over 6000 before he got knocked out by Juha and his ever growing stack of chips.

Roy was the first out after David pushed all in 3 times in a row with a relatively short stack to steal the blinds and Roy called showing K K, David had A J of clubs and spiked an Ace on the flop to take his chips and knock out Roy.

After Roy,Juha was next to go out follwed by Robbert who got busted by Liam, leaving just 3.

Dave went into the last 3 with a slight chip lead over Liam and Brian was shortstacked. Then it all changed on one hand when David in the BB was let in with K 6 and with a check to the turn and then a bet of 1000 on the turn which he called, hitting his 6 high straight to Liams wheel and knocking him haivng him slightly covered.

Down to Heads up with Brian and Dave and things only lasted 2 hands, Brian pushing all in with 10 5 of hearts and Dave woke up to find Aces heads up and of course called to end the match.

It was a good game and the next should be better with more people present, but I would think it might not be for a week or so due to football commitments... hehe

see you all soon!

A fun little tourney

Muttun Lam introduced me to a fun but slightly wild tournament last night on Fulltilt poker.

Its the 3.50 super turbo single table tourney where you start with 300 chips and in my first one 3 - 4 people were out in 5 minutes... it was crazy.

But even with that few chips you can still play pretty solid and get far in these tourneys and are good for a quick poker fix when you have very little time.

most amusing!

a good night, to share!

PokerStars Tournament #91599259, No Limit Hold'em
Buy-In: $2.00/$0.20
180 players
Total Prize Pool: $360.00
Tournament started - 2008/06/10 - 17:08:06 (ET)

Dear Tenakalaz,

You finished the tournament in 5th place.
A $23.40 award has been credited to your Real Money account.

You earned 81.13 tournament leader points in this tournament.
For information about our tournament leader board, see our web site at
http://www.pokerstars.com/poker/tournaments/leader-board/

Congratulations!
Thank you for participating.

It was a shame I missed out on the top 3 spaces which had some nice pay outs, but I had to push shortstacked with A 9 offsuit and got called down by A 10 all under cards and no chance of a split and my 9 kicker got beat en by a ten kicker and I was out in 5th, oh well it was a good run. and is a good return for $2.20 inc rake and not bad with 180 players. Played a nice solid careful game and loosened up around the final table only where the money is more interesting. I also came second in a single table tournament on Fulltilt to recover my bankroll slighty when I won $17.50 or $18 (cant remember now) in the $5.50 single table SNG.

Hope to see you all at the tables

Beebzz Easter Weekend PokerStars Update #5
MILESTONE! HAHA NICE.
BANKROLL: $216.73 (PROFIT: +$100.40)

+$30 MORE!

Beebzz Easter Weekend PokerStars Update #4

HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?
HOW ARE THEY PLAYIN SO BAD AT THESE LEVELS?

I was grindin it out with swings to both ends at the .02/.05c levels before this
weekend. but with a stroke of luck, my big gamble paid off. Playin .50/1.00 this
morning felt a bit too risky, so I took it down to half that. I'm winning pots
CONSISTENTLY at the .25/.50c levels and this is defintely worth my time & money. THe
minimum buy-in risk($10) doesn't feel that much anymore because of the major
winnings possible when patient.

How can this be? It seems too easy. Hmmm...
Im very intrested in seeing where this is going.
IM HOOKED.

BANKROLL: $192.13 (PROFIT: +$75.80)

anyone else find this intresting? comments?
HAHAH NICE!

Saturday, March 22, 2008

up $30! NICE.

Beebzz online update again!
Playin a bit safer now... not riskin as much
..50/1.00 PLHE after an hour total this morning...

POT LIMIT IS GREAT!
Since I usually wait for the nuts (&BB)
now one can push me off the hand with a decent bluff...
POT LIMIT. SAFER. HUGE UP NOW! NICE!

BANKROLL: $181.53 (PROFIT: +$63)
HELLA!

Skill or Luck?

Was my big gamble on the $1/2 PLHE table skill or luck?
Was I that good or was I gettin' the best of it?

I'm going to be playin at (around) those stacks all weekend
so stay tuned for more ongoing coverage!

Friday, March 21, 2008

Happy Easter!

Beebzz here!

Long Story short...
I played a RING GAME $1/2 PLHE tonite
instead of my usual RING $.02/0.5 NLHE game
and bought in for the MIN $40 (almost my entire bankroll DOH!)
got busted and came back for more cas the competition was NOT FIERCE
deposited AGAIN (DOH!) bought in for MIN $40 AGAIN
and logged out after a full hour with $134.70.

1 SESSION WINNINGS: $55
BANKROLL: $30+ profit

WHY PLAY MICRO WHEN YOU WIN FROM BIGGER FISH?
THEYRE NOT THAT GREAT. BIGGER MONEY IS SITTIN THERE.
WHY GRIND IT UP WHEN YOU CAN MOVE FAST? BIGGER SWINGS, BUT WORTH MY TIME.
LUVIN IT! RISKY? SURE BUT IT FELT RIGHT SO I WENT WITH IT.
HAHAH! NICE! BIG FISH ROCK! THANKS FISHIES! YEA!

I've been playin online poker for 2months.
IM SUCH A ROOKIE DONK.
ENJOY! I AM! YEA!

Andy takes it down!

So it was Andy's first win at the big game this weekend!!!

Dave blasted himself out by walking into Robberts big hands everytime, kings, Aces, Ace King, busting Dave out first... much to his dismay.

Adam was holding a HUGE chip lead for much of the match but managed to lose that through a combination of crazy moves and red wine when he pushed all in with A 2 of clubs and despite hitting 4 clubs on the turn he was unable to beat Juhas AA.

Adam finally finished in 5th....

Robbert was next to go out despite having taken all of Daves chips he took a few beats and eventually went out with pockets 6's against andy's A 10 when he got a full house.

Juha went out in 3rd place when he was all in against andy's K 10 when Andy hit the 10 and juha didn't improve leaving Brian who had been quietly plugging away winning enough pots to keep himself going and surivive into second place.

Andy eventually took it down when he called an all in with A 8 and with noone improving he took down his first win!!

Congrats to everyone and especially to Andy for another action packed game! I think Andy took out most of the table apart from Dave who Robbert knocked out..

the next one will be in two weeks or so I will keep you posted!

The photo will be uploaded tomorrow.

The Cash game

Last Friday a few of us got together for a bit of a cash game... It turned out to be great fun and actually lasted longer than our usual tournament..

It was nice low stakes with blinds of 5/10 cent but there was plenty of action and it was a fun night, maybe something to do again in the future, it makes for a slightly different evening.

Even poor old Stu bought into the game but decided to go all in when he realised how drunk and tired he was and dumped his chips to Liam.

There is another tournament this weekend, so let me know if you wil be playing guys!

catch you all later

Monday, March 3, 2008

It's always Liam's go......

It was a great match again this weekend (but then I would say that) it was action packed and filled with some big hands, most of which seemed to fall to Roy in the beginning, Pocket Rockets, Jacks, even Kings which ended up being his demise against Robberts Queens when robbert hit a set on the Turn, roy even threw a set of jacks away in a hand were Adam and Andy were going all in for the pot and scared Roy out of the way with 3 jacks...

Thankfully there was NO super turbo tournament before everyone arrived but even with Liam not present for the first few hands and being blinded out there was still all ins within the first 5 hands of the tournament... Love it!

The match was pretty even for quite some time with no one being kocked out for well past the add-in period and the pots were almost always big... But then a flurry of action gave Robbert a huge chip lead when he Cripple Roy and knocked out Liam in one hand holding his Queens, Liam had his 6's and Roy was holding pocket Kings, Everything seemed good for the kings on the flop but a queen on the turn knocked out Liam and severly crippled Roy who eventually went out to Adam.

Robbert was left with a huge stack and we had lost our first player.

After another crazy hand were Robbert held KK against Andy's JJ, Andy was out and the loss of roy a little earlier to Adam meant we were down to 4, Brian, Adam, Dave and Robbert.

Brian went out first trying to bluff Robbert off a pair of kings with his A 9, but it failed and he didnt catch an Ace to help him out.

3's up, Adam who was the short stack doubled up through Dave leaving him crippled with around 4500 chips when he caught his jack, only to later lose them all back to him along with the rest when his Q J couldnt catch against Daves AK thus it was down to Dave and Robbert to battle heads up for the final 2 spots.

Robbert had around twice as many chips as Dave but he managed to double up with A 10 clubs against Robberts KJ when he hit the flush on the turn, Dave now had the chip lead. A few folds later and Dave calls Robbert's all in with A 6 off suit and Robbert turns over K J again but with noone hitting anything Dave took down the match.

Poker Lunacy Saturday!

Well what can I say about saturdays game... it was a Wild and aggressive one...

We also played with the 2 pack system with one pack being shuffled and made ready for the next deal whilst the other deck was in play, this made for a much faster game and we all got to see many more hands which was great. I think people will agree that it was a nice addition to the game, so thanks to Adam for this idea.

We only had 6 people so it was a bit shorthanded and everyone had decided that we would not be playing for any player of the year points this week due to the lack of people but we would increase the intial buy in to €15 and increase the chips to 3000 to make it a bit more fun.... And fun it most certainly was.

It was one of the most fast paced action based games I have played in so far it was so incredibly fast that Brian had rebought already after the first crazy hand before Liam had even arrived and then again within 10 minutes after that... like I said it was a bit crazy.

Eventually Adam was first out followed by Robbert who went out with his pocket 10's aganist Daves K Q. Liam and Andy both went out on the same hand which was probably the craziest hand of the tournament, with Andy on Q J, Liam had A J, and Dave had pocket 9's, and preflop Brian thinking hard for 5 minutes abotu what to do with his apparentlt great hand, he was unsure but decided to fold (later to find out he folded K Q, great fold though).

FLOP : 9 A 8

Dave hit a set of 9's on the flop, Liam hit his ace and Andy had a gutshot staightdraw.

Turn : 10

Andy hits his straight 8 through to Q and Dave was screaming for the board to pair up and give him a full house, and then comes the river.....

River : 8 The board pairs and gives Dave a fullhouse and two people are knocked out leaving Dave an Brian to go heads up, Liam out in 4th with slightly less chips and Andy out in 3rd, and Brian incfedbily happy that he folded.

Eventually the game came down to the classic showdown of two overcards against a pair. Dave held AK and Brian pocket 9's but a King on the flop and no improvement for Brian meant that Dave took down the match this week.

Anyway I am already looking forward to this weeks game!!! See you all saturday I hope.

BEEBZZ smashing it up!!

I have been watching Beebs dominating a 10 cent tournament on pokerstars and he is currently raking in the chips! but I had to post this sick hand that was just played, really sick.

you are a cruel man BEEBZZ!! Cracking Aces like that but great play too!!!

I think this is a good lesson on why you shouldn't slow play aces because you give people the chance to beat you up!! Although the guy did keep raising, beebzz stack was too big and it allowed him to call everything. and he caught his 10 on the turn, it could have been dangerous had it not happened as it was easy to think you were ahead in this situation!!

Game Friday NOT saturday!

This week's game will have to take place on Friday instead of Saturday due to other commitments. If we get enough players that is... otherwise it might have to wait another week!

Please send Dave an email to let him know if you can make it!

Sorry for that, next week things should be back to normal!

Donkeyfish Training is here!!

Guys I have created a new site for us...

You can get to it thorugh the links section in this right hand column and also through the link in this post!!

This is called Donkeyfish training and will primarily be for us sharing techniques, strategy and anything that will help us improve our game.

I think there will be a lot of focus on online play here and I will be installing Brian and Adam as administrators also to the site so we can build up a nice collection of learning tools for us all to improve our game.

Also the URL for our blog has changed to get my tenakalaz name out of it and to add our Donkeyfish name to the URL and make it ours and not just from me. Adam and Brian have also been added as moderators!

I hope you all enjoy!!

The new site is available here!!

Late Match Report

Sorry for the delay guys, I have been a bit under the weather so the report will be a little rusty.

What we do know is the Roy won another one to be the highest cashing player so far this year!!! Adam taking down his first cash and Dave managing to mess up and make enough mistakes to throw away his chip lead all on his own and all to adam who caught 9's and Q's in the BB both times to call Daves semi bluffs and go from short stack to chip leader in 3 hands.

The last hand was a coin flip with Adam slightly ahead but Roy manged to catch with his trip 3's to take it down.

So well done to Roy.

Next match should be in a week or so and I should be feeling better and I think I am going to be taking mroe notes during the match and recording more info to make the match reports that little bit better!!!

Thanks to the guys who are posting their own reports and keeping us posted on their own progress online, its great to read about, and maybe I will have something more to post on that soon!!

see you all soon

Steady climb online..

Yeh I know, this post is a little bit of blowing my own trumpet....

But after hearing that Reinder is also having a good month in online poker I thought I would post some of my thoughts about the last few weeks online.

Since december I have had a steady increase in my bankroll playing the low limits on pokerstars in both the SNG MTT's and the low limit (.5/.10) cash games. It started with a €25 ($33) deposit and with careful play and very careful bankroll management that balance is currently at $129.70, so I thought I would share some of my findings about my own game and why I thnk it is going reasonably ok.

Previously I have built my roll to over $900 but due to terrible bankroll management (BRM) I have blown it all making a break for the big time and decided that this last deposit would be my last one for a long time and in order to try to take on my personal challenge properly I set my self some rules and it's these rules that I believe have actually made the most improvement in making profit than any of the playing tips I have recieved or read about. The importance of BRM had always escaped me before so I thought I would explain how I have been doing it recently.

1. Tounaments - Never buy into a tournament for anything more than 2% of Entire Bankroll. (so $1.20 dollar tourneys only)
2. Cash Games - Never buy in for anymore than 5% of my bankroll (still playing at around 2%)
3. Cash Games - If during a cash game I reach 10% of my total bankroll then I must logg out (approx triple my buy in) and buy in for the same 5% at another table.
4. Buy in limits per day - I allowed myself 2 tournaments and 2 cash table buyins for one session. If I lost them I had to stop playing until the next session (the following day mainly)
5. Never chase a loss. The two cash table buyins can be used on the same table (especially after a abd beat and am not tilting) but if that buy in is lost then you must log out and not play cash tables again until next session
6. Set ranges for increasing my stakes and reward wins. I am currently forcing myself to stay at certain limits where I am confortable winning, I will not go up to higher limits until I have reached various stages of my bank roll. The next stage being 200 dollars. Then I will double up the buy ins that I am currently spending to $2.20 SNG's and the odd $5 SNG's now and again as a reward for winning tournaments.

By sticking to these rules I have been having positive ssessions everyday at the moment and although I did play 1 tournament more than allowed yesterday because I was unaware that I was already sitting in a tournament that was running, so I had 4 going instead of the 3 I was aware of.

I would love to hear anyone elses poker progress and I will keep you posted on the bankroll and any big tourney wins I may get this year.

This weeks fun resulted in (in total about 10 tourneys played, 5 cashes, 3 wins = profit)

Tourney: 45 man - placed 1st
Tourney: 45 man - placed 1st
Tourney: 09 man - placed 1st
Tourney: 45 man - placed 3rd
Tourney: 45 man - placed 3rd

Also some micro limit cash table profit

I also died in 2 tournaments online one because I didn't know I was entered into it and the other due to a stupid play with a big hand. I figured 3 out of 5 isn't bad and it was a profitable evening which is the most important thing. (I was allowed extra tourneys due to tournament win, giving yourself an incentive to earn more if you win means you can make mroe money without risking your bankroll.)

Current Bankroll : 129.70

Poker Observations of the Lam

Poker Observations of the Lam

So here it was; a wonderful night to behold lay before my woolly feet as I trod fearlessly back into the world of poker stars. Under the guidance of the legendary Tenakalaz I took part in the 45 seater in line for a dollar (paid for by the aforementioned).

It was going well for me until I had to take a call in the real world, and subsequently got blinded down so much that when I returned it was all I could to but watch my all in on two high cards.

At least it gave me a chance to watch the Ten' go about his game and as he took down the 150 euros in the last home game I thought some research may be useful anyway. And that's the main reason for this blogg; his careful strategy deserves closer inspection for the sake of my bankroll.

He started copybook tight; tight is right, in the early stages. It was not until the field come down to two tables did he loosen up slightly. He created a very nice image by folding slowly at times, quickly at others. No chat.

He let the lunatics get their chips stack and lose them, a lot of it finding its way to him.

Here I must admit I tried my best to put his off by typing odd words in the chat box but he had it sorted.

He played a few careful but committed bluffs against the correct opponents and played his A-game until the field was down to seven, then he used the credit he gained from his tight image to be able to take some high blinds down pre-flop.

He was safe and waited for his cards. When they came he coaxed others into a hand and knocked them out.

What was noticeable about his game was the discipline he showed in making it to the final table and then being able to switch his game to a more aggressive style. As the players remaining came down to four he was super aggressive, and it was not long between until it was between him and the other best player in the tourney were heads up.

Here, when a little luck was needed he had none and had his K7 suited (I think) blown away by an AQ off suit.

A great game to watch…

I was thinking that maybe it is not fair to submit these observations; we will all get a chance to play him and use what we know about his game against him, but when he can switch his style so effectively, will reading this make him any easier to play? I doubt it.

But it could help us.
